Department of Theory and History of State and Law

The Department is an educational and research unit of King Danylo University which provides methodical, scientific, research and educational instruction in the fundamental disciplines.

The educational process at the Department is based upon the decrees and orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Statute of King Danylo University (Private Higher Education Institution) and other valid legal acts.

A research school was formed on the basis of the Department which deals with state and political legal aspects of establishment, formation and development of statehood.

Scientific research focuses on analysis of state-legal validity, cooperation of state authorities and civil society, historical and legal issues and legislative regulation of legal relations in Ukraine, general theory of state and law, legal consciousness of juridical culture and education of population, realization of constitutional rights and freedoms, regulation of essential aspects of public life through legal systems of the states which comprised the Ukrainian territory, legal regulation of social welfare of public officers and local self-government officials.

- scientific and research activity in the areas of: the theory and history of state and law; the history of political and legal studies; philosophy of law; legal problems of political institutions and processes;

The work of the department in the organization and the educational process is constantly improving. To this end, supported close contacts and study experience of teaching and research departments of other relevant institutions. Faculty fruitfully cooperate with government agencies and legal institutions.

The scientist is the founder of the first Ukrainian laboratory of academic research in legal regulation and legal technology, which has a value in the training of lawyers. I.D. Shutak takes an active part in law-making activity of the state as an active figure in propaganda and affirmation of democratic values, Christian morals and ideas of building a rule-of-law state in Ukraine with priorities of justice and the rule of law.

Department of Criminal Law and Procedure

Department of Criminal Law and Procedure The Department of Criminal Law and Procedure was established in 1998. The Department is an educational and research unit of King Danylo University which performs educational, methodical, scientific, research activity.
The Department provides the students with the disciplines leading to their Bachelor, Specialist and Master’s degrees (qualifications).

Scientific and research work of the Department is defined by the Department’s activity and academic interests.

The Department annually organizes the Ukrainian Scientific Practical Seminar “Theoretical and practical issues of criminal law and procedure” which is held in December.

The results of the scientific work are displayed in teaching and methodical manuals and monographs which are recommended for the educational process. The lecturers at the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure are involved into the activity of the legal clinic which functions at the Law Faculty of the University.

The students’ scientific group “Theoretical and applied issues of development of the Ukrainian current legislation” functions at the Department. At the Department’s disposal there are a criminalistics laboratory and a courtroom which encourage the students to acquire practical skills in the sphere of jurisprudence.

Talented students are engaged into scientific activity – writing articles, participating in students’ conferences, cultural and sports events of King Danylo University.

Candidate of Law with 2006 year. The dissertation on the topic "Presentation of a person for identification outside of its visual observation" defended 26 in May 2006 year and obtained a Ph.D. in law sciences in the specialty 12.00.09 - criminal process and criminalistics; forensic examination.

The academic rank of associate professor of the department of criminal process and criminalistics was assigned in 2010 year.

Doctor of Law with 2014 year. Thesis on the topic: "Legal bases of decision-making and decision of the investigator at the stage of pre-trial investigation" defended 23 in May 2014 year and obtained a doctorate in law sciences in the specialty 12.00.09 - criminal procedure and criminalistics; forensic examination; operational search activity.

The academic title of the professor of the department of criminal-law disciplines and operative-search activity is assigned in 2016 year.

He is a developer and co-developer of a number of academic disciplines for training and training of police officers under the OSCE and ISITAR programs.

Department of Civil Law and Procedure

Department of Civil Law and Procedure The Department of Civil Law and Procedure was established in 1998 at the Law Faculty and has been working since then. The Department is an educational and research structural unit of King Danylo University which provides methodical, scientific, research and educational instruction in the fundamental disciplines. The activity of the Department is based upon the Statute on the Department of Civil Law and Procedure; employment duties of the Department Chair and employment duties of the teaching staff of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure.
Scientific and research work of the Department is defined by the Department’s activity and academic interests of the teaching staff and is focused on the following issues: current problems of civil legal relations, performance of contractual and non-contractual obligations, protection of civil rights and interests of citizens in the context of globalization, theoretical and practical aspects of civil responsibility, topical issues of implementation and protection of property and personal non-property rights of intellectual property items, issues of labor relations development in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the EU, theoretical issues of inheritance law, civil rights protection in the executory process, topical issues of formation and application of civil procedure in Ukraine, regularities of procedural law establishment, development and functioning : a comparative legal analysis with the EU law, implementation of the EU legislation on protection of personal non-property rights in the sphere of intellectual property; problems of legal state formation and development under the conditions of acquisition of some Ukrainian territories; constitutional legal responsibility of parties in government power relations; transformation of the land law principles in Ukraine on the current stage of land relations regulation; civil and moral issues of donorship in Ukraine, etc.
Specifically, the lecturers of the Department research into the issues of impact and improvement of the current legislation, participate in developing and substantiating proposals on improvement of the Ukrainian legislation dealing with application of the EU standards to the national legislation.
The Department focuses attention on interaction with the students. Nowadays there is a courtroom at the Law Faculty’s disposal and workshops there give the students a chance to acquire practical skills in the sphere of jurisprudence. Talented students are engaged into scientific activity – writing articles, participating in students’ conferences as well as cultural and sports events of King Danylo University.

One of the oldest, fundamental and basic departments of the faculty of Economics of King Danylo University is a department of economic theory and personnel management named after the UAS academician Zenovii Maniv. The department was headed by PhD (Economics), professor, the UAS academician Maniv Zinovii Oleksiiovych. In honor of the famous scientist, social and political activist, poet and philosopher the department was named.
This specialized training is designed to prepare students to achieve success in the fields of business, trade and investment by improving sales. The country’s need for highly qualified specialists - able to establish and develop their own business in production and trade and provide quality services in stock market activities - is constantly growing.
Students trained in this specialty will have the following advantages: • The ability to implement the common functions of enterprise management. • Training in Economics and Law, entrepreneurship, management, ICT, as well as other "social" disciplines including the theory and practice of socio-economic relations and business communication. • Practice in decision-making and the creation of functional and informational draft decisions. • Expertise in managing and coordinating both their primary responsibilities as well as supervising independent organizations, which do not have dedicated office management.
Professional competences in the specialty "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Stock Exchange Activities" are taught as a part of the curriculum of entrepreneurship, enterprise economics, macro and microeconomics, marketing and management, economic analysis, finance and accounting, commerce, business planning, pricing, marketing management, enterprise innovation, strategy and tactics of business development.

The department consists of highly qualified teachers - 1 Doctors of Science, 2 PhDs, 1 Associate Professors and 7 Teachers - who have experience in studying, internship and long stay abroad and are the bearers of not only deep knowledge of the foreign language but also cultural expressions of countries, Languages ​​taught at the department - English, German, and French.
Significant advantage is the participation of native speaker - John Durham (United States of America) in the foreign language teaching process, who systematically gives classes of English at the University.
There is drama club within the Department, members of which prepare plays of Ukrainian and foreign dramatists, and English club named "English Corner", which involves native speakers, lecturers and students of the University. Under the guidance of lecturers, students participate in scientific conferences and competitions both in regional and national stages; actively organize Week of English Movie, European Day of Languages, International Translation Day.

Construction Department

The construction department was established in 2008. It is a part of educational and research unit of King Danylo University and a member of architecture and construction faculty.

The construction department was created by 2008 and is a structural educational unit of King Danylo University and is a part of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction.

The department carries out educational, methodological, research and educational work. Provides teaching of disciplines for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of industrial and civil engineering for the educational-qualifying levels of "Bachelor" in the direction of preparation 6.060101 "Construction". The process of training specialists is fully equipped with educational, methodological and informational materials, the development and improvement of which constantly works professorial and teaching staff of the department.

The department is actively engaged in scientific work, its academic teaching staff is a regular contributor to regional and national periodicals, a number of scientific monographs and textbooks that are used in teaching process.

Gifted students are involved in writing scholarly works, articles, participating in student conferences, competitions, cultural events and sports events at the King Danylo University.

The department cooperates with construction companies, in particular practical lessons are carried out on construction sites. Graduates of the department work in well-known construction firms in Ukraine, public authorities and government bodies.

The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, which was created one of the first in the Faculty, is very important and relevant because it allows students to receive complete higher professional education, and allows graduates of the University to implement their knowledge and skills in different fields of architecture and urban planning.

The Department trains students for their Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban planning (19 Architecture and Construction)Specialty 191 Architecture and Urban Planning. Training term - 4 years.

Successful fulfillment of the program involves obtaining by the student fundamental and professionally directed knowledge and skills, necessary to perform common occupational tasks at architectural designing organizations and enterprises of different ownership. Students with their Bachelor’s in Architecture have the ability to apply basic aesthetic categories, rules of architectural composition, economic and environmental principles in the construction of architectural design; to develop innovative techinques in the architectural design; organize the process of architectural and design engineering.

Students with their Bachelor’s degree will have the following advantages:

  • modern idea of the principles and norms of zoning, planning the development of three-dimensional structures, constructional schemes and artistic images of architectural objects;
  • modern knowledge in the technology of computer modeling of architectural objects, means of engineering and computer graphics;
  • advanced knowledge in architectural design and methods of technical and economic calculations;
  • thorough knowledge of the methods of architectural design, technical and economic calculations;
  • basic knowledge of architectural principles for designing exteriors and interiors and designing landscapes;

In 2015, the Department opened Graduate School (Master's Degree Program). Graduates on Specialist’s and Bachelor’s are able to obtain the Master’s in Architecture and Urban Planning, (19 Architecture and Construction, in speciality of 191 Architecture and Urban Planning). The training term in Graduate School is 18 months.

After graduation masters get professional knowledge and skills of building foundations according to established functional, aesthetic requirements in the field of architecture and urban planning; fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge of the principles of space-planning and design solutions in architecture, the main directions and methods of regional planning and urban, modern trends of improving urban environment.

The students of architecture and urban planning department are actively involved in educational process and public life of the faculty and university; they are permanent participants and winners of various conferences, creative competitions and projects.

Graduates have analysis skills of contemporary issues in architecture and urban planning, ability to develop master plans of settlements, projects of buildings and comprehensive improvement of the urban environment; perform system analysis and research of architectural objects, assess current problem situations in urban building and solve them effectively using innovative techniques and methods, acceptance and justification of specific architectural solutions to improve the quality of urban environment.

TheDepartment of Philosophy, Canon Law and Social Studies named after UAS academician Іvan Lutskyi was established on September 1, 2015 by combining Departments of the Humanities and Department of Philosophy of Law, Canon Law and Public Law. In September 1, 2016 the Department was renamed to the Department of Theology, Common Law and Social Studies named after the UAS academician Іvan Lutskyi.
The Department was named in honor of Ivan Mykhailovych Lutskyithe first Rector and the founder of the University, L.L.D., Professor, who headed the Department of Philosophy of Law, Canon Law and Public Law, for a long time.
In its activity the Department successfully implements the classical model of education, based on the good humanitarian and professional training that enables students to have thorough development of knowledge.
In the educational process, lecturers always take into consideration and creatively use the advanced experience of the best native and foreign higher educational institutions.
The educational process at the Department is based on state standards of training higher educational specialists, as well as on their own innovative technologies, which are elaborated by the leading lecturers of the faculty.
Educational and methodical materials suits to modern standards of education and is constantly updated and improved. Scientific interests of lecturers of the Department are outlined by the specifics of the work of the Department.
The Department’s focus on a combination of educational activity with scientific workshops, improves the quality of teaching, it is corroborated by the systematic carrying out of scientific seminars, scientific and practical conferences, round table discussions and numerous scientific publications of the Department’s lecturers, including: monographies, training and methodical manuals, scientific articles, thesis, etc., as well as the arrangement of different student’s research activities.

Department of Information Technology and Software Engineering

Department of Information Technology and Software Engineering was founded in 2011 year. To date, the department employs: 2 doctors of sciences, 4 candidates of sciences and 6 faculty, part-time students of the largest IT companies of Ivano-Frankivsk city.

The department carries out preparation of bachelors and masters in the specialty 121 Software Engineering.

The Information Technology and Software Engineering Department has partnered with recognized IT companies and software developers such as Eleks, SoftJourn, SoftServe, and Bvblogic. These companies are included in the world’s 100 best IT outsourcing companies according to the 2015 rankings of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).

The Department also holds the largest IT conferences in the city; the IT-Rally, IT-RallyStarters and Design Village. This cooperation enables the Department to meet the ever-changing demands of the modern world in order to stay abreast of worldwide trends in IT. Students studying at the Department are taught by experienced and certified practical experts and are able to take part in real software development projects and testing.
