7-8 September 2017 year at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service (Chernihiv) a meeting of the III International Round Table "Criminal Law: Traditions and Innovations" dedicated to commemorating the outstanding scientist, Hero of Ukraine, academician Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Stachis.



About 140 scientists from Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Kazakhstan and Belarus took part in the International Roundtable, which worked within the framework of three plenary platforms. Our university at this powerful scientific event was represented by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Methodological Work, Doctor of Law, Professor Basit Iryna Vladimirovna, with the report "The Impact of Criminalizing Excessive Investigation on Certain Types of Criminal Offenses".

The objectives of the round table are defined as: promoting the preservation and enhancement of the traditions and values ​​of the school of science at all stages of its formation and development; providing access for scientists, applicants and practicing lawyers to information on the implementation of legal reform in the world and in Ukraine, improvement of legal science, connection of theory and practice, discussion of problems of harmonization of national legislation with the legislation of the European Union, discussion of practical problems of criminal law, Criminology and Criminal Execution Law.

The organizers of the roundtable were: the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service, the All-Ukrainian Criminal Law Association, the Scientific Research Institute for the Study of Crime Problems named after Academician V.V. Stachis, the NPRC of Ukraine, the Zaporizhzhya and Chernihiv local branches of the public organization.
